“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Iantha Q. Brown a native of Glen Burnie, Maryland is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She was installed as Pastor of Refuge Church Ministries II (RCM II) in Glen Burnie, Maryland along with her husband and best friend Rev. Dr. V. “Keith” Brown, Sr. in September 2009. As she is affectionately known, “Pastor I” has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God to anyone who has an ear to hear. Prior to taking on the role as Pastor of RCM II, she served in many leadership capacities, including Lay Leader, at her home church, John Wesley United Methodist Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and on the Ministerial Staff at Refuge Church Ministries, Inc. in Upper Marlboro. She was blessed to lead Evangelism Ministries in both places.

Rev. Brown began her education in the Anne Arundel County Public School System. She then attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County as a pre-nursing student and then matriculated to the University of Maryland School of Nursing where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Later she received a Master of General Administration with a concentration in Healthcare from the University of Maryland University College. She enjoyed a distinguished career as a nurse leader in the Baltimore-Washington area for nearly three decades prior to taking on ministry full time. Seeking to be equipped for ministry, she sought theological training at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore Kentucky, and Bethel Seminary of the East at their extension site in Glenarden, Maryland. After many years of academic preparation, Iantha received a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Denver Seminary in May 2020.

Blessed to have had dual callings, she is sought after to deliver keynote addresses in the church and in the workplace. Her God-given ability to enthuse, encourage, uplift, and inspire is what makes her the person she is today. Pastor Iantha’s greatest desire is to allow God to use her gifts and graces in Kingdom building! It is her daily prayer that she exemplifies what Jesus said his followers were to be in Matthew 5 as “salt and light” in the world.

Rev. Brown and her family reside in Hanover, Maryland. She and her husband are blessed to have two blossoming young adult children, Vincent and Alicia.
