Scripture:  1 Peter 5:7

Good Morning.  I want to talk to you about the “seems of life” — not the “s-e-a-ms” or the “sc-ene-s” of life, but the “s-e-e-m-s” of life.  Life has many twists and turns and it sometimes “seems” that you can't make it through.  It seems as if all your dreams are turned upside down.  It seems like everything and everyone is against you.  It seems like the devil has a foothold on your future and you’re going nowhere fast.

That is how it seems.  Sometimes it seems as if you can’t get well from an illness.  Sometimes it seems as if nobody is listening to you or it seems as if nobody wants to help you in your struggles.  And let us not even discuss what it seems like on your job, or what it seems like in your finances!  How it seems like nobody even cares.

But we want you to know that God cares, and no matter what it seems like, no matter how much anxiety it seems like you are carrying — he wants us to lean on him. Our Scripture says to cast all our cares on him, for he cares for you.”  That is to say, no matter what it seems like, feels like, or even looks like in our lives — if we but place those cares directly on Jesus, and trust him in the process— he will see us through.  And after a while, it will seem like you are making progress — and you will be!

I don’t know about you, but your Pastors have been at stages when all seems good to outsiders looking in, but when you have had loss as we have, all may seem to look good, but it is not always that good.  But that’s where we always let God step in!  We call on him, we approach him with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving — and we give him full control by allowing him to work on our behalf by faith in him.  And we readily ask him to change the “seems” of life to realities of blessings, change the seems of life concerning what it looks like to change for the better.   Because when God is in it we can win it!   Change is just a prayer away.   It’s on your horizon so get ready!

Now for believers, the enemy will always try to make your situation seem worse than it really is, so don’t listen to him at all!  Trust God and it won't seem to be what it may look like!  God has the ultimate charge over our lives and since it seems like he knows what he’s doing — let me correct that — no seeming in it — he knows exactly what to do — then stop looking at your circumstances with human eyes and look at them with spiritual eyes.

Seemingly, over time things will change.  And in reality, God has already done it — just wait for the manifestation.   Can’t see what it really “seems” to be in your life situations?  Psalm 55: 22 another Scripture we love while dealing with “the seems” says “Cast your burdens on the Lord and he shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved!”So there you have it in 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22 and Pastors Brown and Brown — “Cast all your cares on him” and watch him work it out!
